1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files or local storage records that a website saves in your browser. They are used to make the site work, to remember your choice, or, only with your consent, to help us understand how the site is used.

2. Categories we use

The cookie banner shown on your first visit splits cookies into four categories. Nothing beyond “Strictly necessary” is set until you actively allow it.

• Strictly necessary – required for the Site to function, including remembering your cookie preference. Always on and cannot be switched off.
• Analytics – we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits and improve the Site. The Google Analytics script only loads once you allow this category; until then, no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent to Google.
• Marketing – would be used to measure advertising effectiveness or retargeting. Not currently used, and no marketing script is loaded.
• Preferences / functional – would remember small choices you make on the Site (e.g. language). Not currently used beyond basic site operation.

3. Consent and changing your choice

On your first visit, a banner appears with “Reject All”, “Customize” and “Accept All” options. Your choice is stored locally in your browser and applies to every later visit, until you change it or clear your browser data.

You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page. Rejecting or withdrawing consent is just as easy as giving it, and does not affect your access to the Site’s content.

4. Third-party cookies and scripts

The Site loads the “Space Grotesk” and “Inter” fonts directly from Google’s font servers to display our typography. This may transmit your IP address to Google when the page loads, independent of your cookie choice, since it happens as part of loading the page itself rather than through a consent-gated cookie. Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure aggregate Site traffic – visit counts, which pages are read, and similar statistics used to improve the Site. The Google Analytics script loads only after you allow the “Analytics” category in the cookie banner; until then, no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent to Google. Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We do not currently use Meta Pixel or any marketing or advertising tool.

5. How long we keep your choice

Your consent choice is stored in your browser’s local storage until you manually change it, clear your browser data, or switch device/browser – in which case the banner will appear again on your next visit.
